This little girl was holding her own as she played on the street in Port Townsend last month. Her mother sat in a chair across the sidewalk from her.
I had mixed emotions. On one hand she seemed mighty young to stand, performing, on the street. On the other hand, how better to learn to perform?
The fact that her mother was close by is a good thing.
How sweet is that! She must have a lot of internal courage. I wouldn’t want to play any instrument on the streets of any city. I also have mixed emotions. She’s so young and people can be brutal. One has to wonder about her home situation and if she’s doing this for the money or for practice for the local symphony? 🙂
Nice to be back!
Gosh they get younger every day Kay! Lowell made some good points there.
Interesting – until I saw your comments I only thought about what a brave little girl she was – glad I’m not the one to make the decision if she can play in public, or if she even should. If I was just going on the image I would say I’m very proud of her for the effort – that takes a lot of bravery.
