You’d think a camping trip in mid-May would be a great prelude to summer, wouldn’t you? Well, I did. It seemed like a great idea in March and April. Maybe it was impatience with winter. Maybe I was dazzled by spring blossoms. I convinced myself that even if it wasn’t all that warm at least it would be dry. Yeah, sure.
Here’s a view of our welcome at Fort Stevens State Park in Oregon.
I hope the rain stopped for you. I gave up on camping a longtime ago. I enjoyed it in my younger days but now I prefer to stay in a dry warm place.
Oh dear, this does not look good. I hope that things changed at some point so you got to enjoy a bit of your time away! After several sorties into camping when a youth, I discovered that my ideal idea of camping generally included a large safe building with a restaurant, lots of big warm beds, a liquor cabinet, and a name such as Marriott or Hilton, etc. 🙂
Wet and disagreeable comes to mind!
Tut tut Kay! You should have know better, this is the Northwest Pacific coast, where the weather ALWAYS surprises on the downside! 🙂
Do you tent camp, car camp or?? Stay dry!
We have a trailer. It’s dry but very small, not much larger than a tent, with nowhere to hang our wet clothes.
Oh, darn! Exactly why I stopped camping in Michigan in the spring. Looks like a soaker!
