This is a white-crowned sparrow, as best I can tell from flipping through a bird book or two. Birds of this sort can sometimes be called “little brown jobs” or LBJs if a better description is lacking. Isn’t it cute?

It’s very cute and yet has a certain flair and I’ll bet there’s a bit of rascalness to this bird. It reminds me of some 8th-graders I taught! 🙂
White-crowned sparrow it is – this time of year the males are into non-stop singing, which is nice, though they do tend to start a little early in the morning.
Striking little bird. I think they’re here.
Adorable, indeed! I’ve never heard ‘Little Brown Job’ before…interesting! I might have to incorporate that into my birding terminology.
Love sparrows because they are so adaptable. Lovely portrait of this small creature.
