Driftwood sometimes reveals an even more beautiful grain than wood that hasn’t been subjected to time and tides. The wood shows its growth and path through life with the currents of its grain.
An appreciation for wood comes with the territory when you’re married to a woodworker.
I am not married to a woodworker but I get your drift. 🙂
I love driftwood and all the articles that woodworkers make out of driftwood. I’ll bet you have a driftwood coffee table! And I wish I had your hubby’s woodworking skills.
I, and I am sure many other people, are fascinated by driftwood. There is a creative beauty about them that is unmatched.
My wife and I collect driftwood and she works with it adding lace and yarn. You are right when you say the grain is beautiful. Our pieces are smaller because neither one of us are woodworkers but I love their creative creations.
Fascinating textures in that wood!
Pretty rare to encounter driftwood here in Florida. Growing up in Michigan, I loved finding beautiful old pieces.
Fabulous find Kay, art by nature 😊
