This is something you don’t see everyday: a log barn.
The corners are constructed like a classic log cabin.
It’s an old building and shows its age but seems to be holding up. The metal roof helps.

Wow… a log cabin barn. It’s a first for me. Great find Kay.
Always fun to find something which is not commonplace, like this lovely old barn. I think that we should have a barn theme since there are so many different styles and conditions of them now.
I am a fan of all log (cabin) type buildings. Don’t see these much here in Florida. Hopefully, this one will last a long time. I’m guessing that it is still in use.
Indeed…that’s unusual! I wonder if it once was a log cabin and the owner decided to add the long metal roof….and….voila!….log cabin barn.
What a nice and unique barn. I never seen a log barn before but it’s quite impressive. Fantastic find!
It does appear to be in good shape.
Terrific barn – and good to see that it is still sturdy and doing a good job. Will this rain ever stop? We are beginning to grow moss on our hair and our feet are becoming suspiciously webbed. Hope you are doing better over there.
Where is this barn?
Ron, I don’t know the name of the road. If you drive up Taylor Cutoff Road and then turn off to go to the fish hatchery you’ll see it off to your right, maybe a quarter mile or so off Taylor Cutoff.
Thank you, LOVE your posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a honey. My daughter is house hunting in southwest Connecticut and has her eye on a log house. It will be interesting to see if she ends up with it.
