These house finches were perched in the apple tree last week — the first I’ve seen in months. And the week before swallows again spiraled in the sky over our yard. {{Cue the applause.}}

A good sign that spring is on the way. The red colouring makes him a handsome looking guy.
Happy days (and pretty birds) are here again. Love the light in the photo!
The sight and sound of birds are welcome harbinger of spring and approaching summer! This fella loves the applause!
I’m sure that if you put a feeder out in winter Kay, that you’ll see them all year – I do, and I’m a good bit north from you. Nice to catch with a camera in any case.
They’re very pretty!
Here the robins have been back over the last week, though I think they’re wondering if they should have come a couple of weeks later!
Awww…such sweet, plump little finches! A sure sign of spring for you, I suspect.
Finches are red? I didn’t know that. Down here in Florida spring is marked by the manatees floating northward.
They look lovely sitting on the branches. Welcome back, it’s spring.
