There used to be a restaurant called “Flippers” on Highway 101. It was open when we moved to Sequim seven years ago, but not regularly. At some point it closed.
We never tried the place. It seemed tired somehow. We weren’t surprised when it shut down.
There must have been a lot people like you that did not eat there.
It’s a familiar type building and I think similar buildings line our highways and byways in that bygone era. Some of these places were good and others stank.
Oops. I meant to also tell you I like your new header photo – a lot!
From the building colours and the sign, they didn’t go out in style.
It does seem to be a throwback to a few decades past.
The era has ended. People probably knew it before the owners. I wonder what will happen to the building now. Thanks for the well wishes concerning my cataract surgery. It went well.
I know this doesn’t have anything to do with the “Bygone Era” but I sure wish you could get over here with your camera. There are exactly 10 deer in our yard right now; looks like a huge family and some guests. You could shoot them all right from Green Valley Lane, or Hogback either one.
We missed our chance.
I read that you have had some posting problems recently. Probably different, but when I tried to post a comment on a different post, I got a message to the effect that “couldn’t establish a data base connection,” whatever that means. It was a first. (Your blog has always loaded very slowly for me . . . )
