This is something you don’t see in metropolitan areas: an honor stand. It’s a simple concept. If the farmer’s not there to take your money, you leave it in the box.
A friend recommended this spot to me. In addition to greens there were potatoes, sweet onions, turnips, beets, and strawberries. I picked up some garlic to tide me over until mine is harvested and ready.
Sofie Farms is on Evans Road. It’s a popular spot. There were lots of customers while I was there.
The farmer is a trustworthy person. I wonder how well the system works.
Seeing Don Knotts again brought back memories.
It is so nice to see this…and as you say, quite unusual these days especially in our cities. I can see why so many people patronize the place – the farms offers a wonderful variety of veggies. Nice to see also that Barney Fife has not been forgotten after all these years!
I like this and the security is topnotch! Good old Barney Fife, brings back memories of sitting in front of the television laughing.
Very trustworthy!
We have quite a few of those around Bellingham – I love it when we are out for a drive and come across one – I always have to stop and buy something. We got the best tomatoes the other day – love love love summer.
It looks like a veggie stand that I would use. I like the retail concept!
