If you like old farm equipment you’re sure to find some here and there around an old farming community.
This John Deere is parked outside Evergreen Towing in Sequim. This is a closer look for those who are interested in how these things work.

These things are built to last. I love seeing how things work, even if I don’t always understand at first glance!
It’s a classic.
That thing has been around a long time. I remember when there were two of them, brand-new they were, too. They were “in love,” if you can picture tractors in love. Then one was sent off a far distance to work in a farmer’s field. For a long time the farmer sent photos and notes back to the John Deere that stayed at home, but finally love wore down and so he reluctantly penned a final note saying it was over. He called it a Deere John letter.
That one has seen a lot of years.
Must have a lot of history underneath its soul. Time sure peels away at things. Greetings!
Wonderful old tractor – it has seen many summers.!!
During our August State Fair, one of my favourite spots is the farm equipment, but not as much fun as previous years. Not as extensive; a sign of the agricultural times, I guess.
Charming. My daughter and SIL in Johannesburg bought an old International Harvester from a neighbor to mow their eight acres. Those old warhorses sometimes still work.
