I thought I would prefer this shot in black and white. And I do like the textures.
But when I went back and looked at the original again I preferred the color version. Each one highlights something different. I’ll let you decide for yourself.

I like them both. But if forced to pick one, I’d go with the color version. The red and rust pops of color tip the scale for me.
For me, it’s black and white. 🙂
I think both have their fine points…it’s all about what a person sees in a photo and sometimes I’m attracted to the b&w and other times to color. These structures must be near water as it appears they are built up off the ground.
Black and white does it for me.
I never can decide between black and white or color. I love the trees in the first one – but also the snaps of color in the second.
You are right about the textures; black and white is such a classic way of showing these differences. Normally I tend to prefer colour, but I certainly do like the top photo.
