The Feiro Marine Life Center in Port Angeles has a tank devoted to nudibranchs, also known as sea slugs. These are tiny invertebrates. For me, the closer you get the more beautiful they are. This little creature was only about an inch long.
I’m not an underwater photographer. Hopefully you can see the delicate form of this tiny and beautiful animal.
Here’s a more common sea star. I’ve added this one to the mix because it looks to me like a human on Superbowl Sunday after a few too many beers.
I’ve learned something today! The nudibranch is a beautiful creature and I’m sure even more so in person.
Such beautiful, weird and interesting creatures. I think it might be wise to lay off the alcohol when visiting this place, though. You could also think you were at a frat party! š
Very colourful critters! That’s the first time I’ve heard the term nudibranch.
Haven’t seen any of these at aquariums I have a visited. The “fan tail” is very pretty. A fan dancer? Must be pretty racy in the water world.
Oh pretty – I love the “ruffles”. You sea star comment made me laugh. Great photos.
