I hadn’t realized how accustomed I’d gotten to well kept pumps until I stopped at a commercial fueling station recently.

Do you have a diesel car?
Interesting how something simple like this can trigger our memories.
You have the photographer’s eye! Love this shot! And I love your phrase, “pump and munch.” I may incorporate that into my everyday speech! 🙂
It is interesting because I immediately thought about changes in service stations from an attendant servicing every car to pumping your own. I recall that the first time I filled my own tank there was some feelings of trepidation that I did it RIGHT!
I think full service stations are an endangered species!
Love the composition, and indeed the well kept pumps are mostly what I find too. Our Fred Meyer has a whole new gas station – must have well over a dozen pumps – maybe even nearer two dozen, such a delight to not have to wait in line for up to half an hour anymore.
Wow — that’s old school. I s’pose that means you had to actually walk inside and pay in person (gasp). Brings back all kinds of childhood memories.
