Saturday was a very clear day which meant very good views of Mt. Baker. This shot, from Marine Drive, shows Baker to the right with the New Dungeness Light Station to the left. Mt. Baker, which is part of the Cascade Range east of the Olympic Peninsula, is cloaked with a new layer of freshly fallen snow.
Nearby there were a couple of benches for enjoying this view and the traffic on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Absolutely stunning – this was the same day I got those great pictures of the Trumpeter Swans – what a wonderful day. I love you view of our Mt. Baker. I’m sure if we’d driven the other direction we would have had a great view of the Olympic Mountains too.
What a sight for sore eyes! Mt. Baker is so beautiful. One time I did take a trip into the Cascades. Not too far, though. We had fun. In 1980.
Re your comment about gators: That is surprising and interesting that a college in San Francisco would use a gator as a mascot or symbol. There aren’t any gators in that part of the country, right? Hmmm…a mystery.
Magnificent views!
The new snow is very pretty surrounded by the blue.
So many wonderful shades of blue!
