We see more eagles at different times of the year. During salmon runs I think they head further west where the feasting may be more abundant. But it’s nice to see them again when they hang out at some of their typical perches.

Thanks to seeing two eagles this last summer my life time count is up to four. One was chased away by to small blackbirds. That was a sight to see.
Well, the Eagle has landed. That’s for sure.
It’s a beautifully composed photo of the eagle atop those branches. We see lots of eagles along the bluffs by the Mississippi river but have never managed to photograph one. Have I sent you this poem before by Tennyson; it’s a great image!
The Eagle
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring’d with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
Great photo – Wednesday we had two eagles circling over our house as we were leaving for the hospital – it was a wondrous sight! I’m always glad when the eagles come back – we’ll probably head up highway 20 one of these days to see more of them.
We’ve got ’em but I rarely see one. I’d say this one stopped to rest and then decided to pose for you. Nicely done. They are majestic birds.
Terrific capture! He seems quite regal.
Nice. We have them down here, too, but I don’t always have my camera with me when I encounter one.
Where do you capture these photos? I would love to attempt to take a photo some time.
Marine Drive is a fairly reliable spot for eagle-watching, as is near the Dungeness Cemetery on Lotzgesell Road (behind the Olympic Game Farm). This was taken along the road that runs north-south on the east side of Walmart – sorry I can’t recall the name of the road.
