Tonight is an event for sky watchers. If you’re in the northern hemisphere there will be a “Super Blood Moon eclipse.” For us northerners it’s our Harvest Moon and the eclipse will be visible in North America and western Europe and Africa. In the southern hemisphere it’s the first full moon of spring and the eclipse will be visible primarily in South America. The link I provided here has a link for the times of the eclipse by location.
Last night’s moon didn’t have the drama of an eclipse or the closeness we’ll achieve tonight. But it wasn’t too shabby either.
I am looking forward to the event.
There was a time when I was young, I would have grabbed my foto equipment, cameras, an energy pill and headed out to set up for this event. Now I shall look at the photos that other fotogs have made, yours. And that’s enough. These two moon shots are very nice, Kay!
If I remember, I’ll look for it. My guess? I’ll miss it. Busy day.
Great shots – I got one when the moon moved between the branches of the trees surrounding us – I hope it is high enough tonight for us to see the eclipse. I love the way the trees frame the moon.
I heard that it will be visible here around 3am tonight. So I probably won’t see it. 😉
I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully the clear skies we’ve got at present hold out.
Can’t believe that it slipped my mind and I was watching a PBS program. . .drats!
