We were hanging out in the yard when we heard buzzing off in the distance. First two, then three…five! of these colorful wings appeared in the sky. And they were headed in our direction.
They never grouped up and flew in a formation but to our delight they flew almost overhead. These two seemed to stay close to each other.
I’m not sure what they’re called. They look as if they’re powered by a big box fan behind the rider and they sound like over-amped mosquitoes.
That’s really neat! I’ve never seen “aircraft” like these before either.
What fun it would be to join them! Everyone else has all the fun!!
Nice shots, Kay! It looks like fun, but I’d prefer keeping my feet on the ground and taking photos. I had to laugh at your comment about “fishing.” It sounds as if you speak from experience! 🙂
Paragliding, I think the proper term is.
Nooooooo, thank you! I’ll keep standing right here on terra firma.
Posted photos on Sequim, WA Facebook group page. Hope that was OK.

Hi Larry! I don’t have anything to do with the Sequim, WA Facebook Group.
Great shots – we had one fly over our house the other day – it had more of a lawn mower type engine and had a triangle “sail”. Moved too fast for me to get indoors and get the camera – we have a lot of trees so it wasn’t visible for very long.
