As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we left the beach at Fort Flagler before sunset. The sky was flat grey and it was downright cold. But I happened to look over my shoulder as we reached the nearby campground. The sky had burst into flames and burned bright gold. I took this shot a few minutes later when we returned to the beach. And it got even better. Check back tomorrow for Evolution of Sunset part 3.

Evolving constantly! “Downright cold”????? How can that be? But I think it will cool down here today – to about 91. Gorgeous sky!
Beautiful!
Stunning – it is always wonderful to get a surprise at sunset. Can’t wait to see the next one. And I wish it would cool off – are you having the same high temperatures over there that we are having here? Quite unusual for NW WA
I am always interested in layering and horizontal lines in paintings and photographs.
Magic happens FAST.
Sigh, so so beautiful!
WOW! Glad you looked around and saw this!
That is nice! In Naples, I see people leaving as soon as the sun goes below the horizon, and I feel like yelling at them “Not now, the best colors are 15 – 30 minutes AFTER the setting of the sun.”
Amazing!
