We had enough rain last Sunday to cause minor flooding in our yard. There is a small seasonal pond that catches runoff from our roofs and it overflowed. That caught the attention of Canada geese and mallard ducks that have visited all week. I know the geese can be an annoyance but if they don’t overstay their welcome they can be very pretty.

The only thing annoying about them is their poop.
Not only pretty, but actually this one upclose is really quite beautiful Oh, Andy, what’s a little poop among friends?!
Absolutely right Kate.
Great photo – love the plants in the background too – spring has certainly arrived. Our yard is squishy from all the rain – and I wonder how the tulip fields are doing in all this rain we are getting.
I agree that they are pretty birds…in the right places. 🙂
The geese have made a return here too. They line the marsh as I cross daily.
I’ve spotted some here sometimes but no close-ups yet though I have tons from the PNW.
I haven’t seen them here yet, though that can change quickly.
I cannot look past the poop. You may find this one soon outwears his welcome.
