Here’s SARC, Sequim’s recreation center. When I first researched Sequim as a place to relocate, this was one of the first amenities that caught my eye. A large lap pool, fitness center, and classes all sounded very good, and still do. But I haven’t joined, at least not yet. It’s a 15-minute drive, which isn’t bad. But I’m steps from miles of walking trails. And I know, given a choice, I’ll always take the path of least resistance.

There’s a similar recreation centre in Pickering…. but I also enjoy outdoor walking as my form of exercise. Right now I switched to the shopping mall until conditions outside get better.
Looks like a nice place, but I’d much rather do exercises on my own, including walking your hiking trails! When we lived in Stone Creek we had access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and never used it!
I’m with you – outdoors is best – but the centers are good for those who need them. Don goes to the pool here in Bellingham several mornings a week before work to do water exercises. He also walks miles and miles outdoors – he needs both. I’ll stick with outdoors for now.
That path is well trod in our house!
