This was one of my favorite action shots of 2013, filled with the horror of seeing an airborne horse over a rider who’d hoped to stay in the saddle, and amazement that the rider was able to dust himself off and walk away.

WoW! What a shot!
I’ve only been to small rodeos and would like to see one that is a bit larger. I’m amazed that these riders seem so “elastic” and mobile after these tumbles.
Yikes! That cowboy is very fortunate not to have broken any bones! We lived in Mesquite, Texas for a few years in the early 70s and Mesquite was noted world-wide for its rodeo which we attended often. What I remember most is how I would laugh when they’d begin a rodeo with a Baptist preacher praying and then a country singer doing “I Come To The Garden Alone”!
It’s a scary photo and I’m so glad the rider walked away! Happy New Year!
You are very funny. Some comments just burn into my consciousness…like yours! š
