I would say at Christmas time they sell more poinsettias than Christmas trees.
Have you ever seen them growing wild in southern California? They will grow clear up the side of a house – they are magnificent in a warm climate.
We still have ours from last year, which has very pretty and full GREEN leaves. Need to go out today to find a really special plant to brighten up the dining room!!

Named after the first American diplomat to Mexico, Joel Roberts Poinsett, these plants are not highly toxic as often believed. But don’t eat them as they will indeed give you an upset stomach.
i got one the other day. i like them!! we call them kerstster (weird word with the double st!. but it stands for christmas star)
