Roissy was a wonderful discovery for our last night in France. I’d forgotten one thing on my “to eat” list: crepes. So we were tickled to find this restaurant specializing in crepes, warm and lively when we returned in the evening. A perfect last dinner.
As old and atmospheric as Roissy was it didn’t provide a full on escape from contemporary culture. I had a laugh as I discovered this shop in the center of Roissy: tattoos and piercings. Yeah. Much as I was tempted, I resisted a final souvenir, that “I (heart) Paris” tat. Maybe next time.
I’m smacking my lips thinking of French crepes. They sound more appealing than a tat. Have a great week-end!
hmmmmmmm! i never tried to make them myself…
tonight we do eat dutch pancakes. they are not as delicate but very good too… i prefer them with cheese and bacon baked into the batter. hmmmmmmm….
Ohhh love crepes – we make them quite often – but what a treat to find them in a restaurant. The tats story made me laugh.
Love crepes too and it’s been far too long since having them. Used to live in the Denver area and one of our favorite things to do during the Christmas season was to go downtown to Larimer Square to a delightful creperie (?) and indulge!
French Crepes!!! What version did you have? Topped or filled with something special?
@Patricia: I had a buckwheat crepe filled with a seafood mixture…and butter. It wasn’t huge but it was really rich and filling. My husband had one with salmon. I’d thought I might have a sweet crepe for dessert but halfway through dinner I knew I had more than enough in front of me. It would have been a little disappointing except the one I had was so, so satisfying and just right!
