A recent trip to Port Townsend included a mandatory stop at Elevated Ice Cream for a scoop of their handmade yumness. These “clothes lines” on the wall were a bonus.
This display is a collection shared by a woman from Forks with wonderful examples of “personality by apron.” Patchwork, vintage fabrics, lace, and ruffles. They all were represented.
It’s wonderful to see the variety, creativity, and even beauty in a simple utility garment like an apron. What a fun exhibit!

Have you ever seen so many fun and funky aprons? I haven’t seen someone wear an apron in many years. I didn’t think they were even made anymore. Obviously, some folks wear ’em. My mother did. I know I’d like the ice cream better!
That’s quite an array of aprons. Lots of memories and good meals behind them. I have one from Santa Fe’s Farmers Market but it’s one of those heavy modern designs. I wear it often because it keeps me clean during last minute preparations before guests arrive.
