Our native roses bloom in June. Bushes are covered with fragrant blossoms that flourish and then slowly disappear over the next couple of months. The bushes are now covered with a sea of bright red hips. This single blossom is a rare late salute to summer.

Saluting summer is a good thing to do!!
What a beauty. It fascinates me, too, because I have a very similar photograph that I intend to post on Ocala, but my flower is not a rose. In fact, I don’t know what it is. Would you believe it’s in the 50s here today? Yea! Going for a run/walk (Lois) and bike ride along (me).
I love our roses – spring or autumn – great photo.
This is really unusual. The rose is in the light, but your background is very dark. Excellent!
pretty in the light.
