As I watched sailboats in Port Townsend Bay the other day I happened to look down into the water below me. I don’t think I’ve seen a jellyfish – certainly not one as ethereal and pretty as this one – beyond the confines of a public aquarium.

Wonderful capture, Kay, and ethereal is a perfect description yet I don’t think I’d like to share any water space with it.

We have a plethora of these in Florida and you do want to avoid them no matter how pretty they are. This one is unusually pretty, though! Hope your weekend is starting off well!
It’s a beautiful capture, Kay! It’s not always esay to photograph jellyfish unless you are in the water too. You did a great job.

So far I have not yet been stung by a jellyfish, and I want to keep it that way, whether a sting from a pretty jellyfish or a sting from an ugly jellyfish.
This is the most colourful jellyfish that I have ever seen.
