Lest you think Fort Flagler is just about military history, here’s another view, taken from the beach at Marrowstone Point, the tip of Marrowstone Island, where the fort is located. This is taken on one of those glorious Pacific Northwest days when all is right with the world. In the distance to the right of the sailboat is Mount Rainier.

It’s a postcard! Can’t imagine it being any better. That would certainly be great fun, sailing around in those waters!
That is amazing – one time we were on the Port Townsend ferry and we could see Mt. Ranier and Mt Baker at the same time – it was splendid. This is a fabulous summer!!!
The lighting here is wonderful. I like the ghost image of Mt. Rainier in the background.
