Salt Creek Recreation Area is a county park located about an hour west of Sequim and set on a spectacular piece of the coastline of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There is access to vibrant tide pools as well as beautiful campsites. Nearby World War II bunkers appeal to history buffs.
The tide came in as we explored the marine garden here. That’s Vancouver Island, B.C. in the distance. On a clear day like this you can see how close we are to Canada.
Lovely nature !
I’ve seen other photos of this beautiful place, but yours are among the best. I really like the colors in that 2nd shot and you were able to keep the highlights in the white water! Very nice!! I’d have a hard time leaving here and going home!
Beautiful pictures from the creek.
Glorious view – fabulous photos – love the colors.
It must be a real pleasure to camp there among all that natural beauty.
It’s a wonderful place to camp, having done so several times in past years. So diversified and mesmerizing to watch the changes along the strait throughout the day and evening.
The top shot is gorgeous! What a setting.
