The native red-flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum) is splashing color everywhere in the natural landscape these days. And early bloomer, it announces spring with with early unfurling leaves, then vivid shades of pink as the blossoms come out to play. Hummingbirds and butterflies love the flowers.

Thanks for showing me what the future holds for me. In my neck of the woods, nature is having a tough time shaking winter off.
One of my favorites too – I’m so happy when I begin seeing the flowers.
Very beautiful shot, Kay!
lovely nature…
What a bright and glorious harbinger of the season. Revel in its color and scent! And show us some of those butterflies and hummingbirds!
Hummingbirds are not the only ones who love these blossoms!
Now this is a sure sign of spring. Wonderful spring color.
