Here’s another view of one of the working barns here in Sequim. This farm is just a hop, skip, and a jump to downtown. It’s on Sequim-Dungeness Road, one of the main north-south roads into and out of town. The farm shares the road with several churches, Sequim High School, the Sequim Library, and a variety of banks and businesses. And it’s for sale.

It’s the lack of snow in your photo that caught my eye. It was like a breath of fresh air.
Who would guess this rural scene would be so close to so many amenities?! I would’ve thought it was all by itself. I wonder if the future land use is designated agricultural…or possibly commercial. That will make a difference on the sale of property.
I’m surprised it’s so close to town. The farm looks like it’s so peaceful out in the middle of nowhere.
We are moving to Sequim. One of the requirements was mountains. A plus, the water. As we drove around Sequim looking for a home and getting to know the area and what imprinted on us were the people, the farms, open fields with horses and cows, and THE BARNS!
I love a working barn…at lost it has a reason to cling to life a little longer.
It sounds as though there has been a steady encroachment on the farm by businesses and churches and whatnot and the owners are probably reading the writing on the wall and figure someone will come along with commercial desires and feed them big bucks for their farm. Which would, in my opinion, be too bad. Maybe another farmer will buy it and keep working it?
What a pretty little farm and so close to everything…I guess when it was originally built it was probably way out in the country.
A lovely working farmstead.. I do have a ongoing question, why have so many silo”s aluminum ‘hoods’ been taken down??? I wish I knew… Thank you for joining in ‘Rurality Blog Hop #5’ Hope to see you next Wednesday for #6…
