This is parked at the edge of the road, near a driveway. It looks to me like it would be dragged along behind a plow. Beyond that your guess is as good as mine.

Nice find. Once an important farm implement and is now on display as a piece of history.
My guess: It’s a furrower that more clearly defines the planting trench during plowing? I know this because; I was born in Iowa; Lived in Illinois; and am just guessing!
I call it Yard Art! And yes it does show a great piece of history.
I see things like this all the time when I’m visiting North Carolina. They’re always rusty, old looking and situated near a garden or yard. Interesting that people take the time to place these implements as artwork.
