Bright skies for Labor Day

As summer winds down it’s been great fun having our skies brightened by hot air balloons from the Sequim Balloon Festival. Judging from the turnout by the sides of the roads as they launched early in the mornings, there’s been a lot of interest in this new event. I have loved this eye candy and am grateful to have this event in our collective backyard.

Here are random views from our skies this past weekend.

  1. It’s always a grand sight to see these things floating about in the sky and in your case you can enjoy the mountains in the background.

Re your comments about what’s going on: I’m sorry but if I told you…well, you know the rest. 🙂

    Have a great week.

  2. Congratulations Sequim Balloon Festival! This could be the start of something BIG! I was in Albuquerque in ’71 when the first Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta launched 13 balloons from a local shopping center. It has grown into the International Balloon Fiesta with several 100 balloons and 100s of thousands of visitors. Don’t think Sequim will nor should grow that big.

But, as you can see from Kay’s photos….the back drop for the Sequim balloons is magnificent. (I spent the morning, however, sitting at the Sequim Balloon Festival listening to some pretty good country and western)
