Although there were fewer avalanche lilies on Hurricane Ridge last Saturday, butterflies were making the most of them. I think this is a Hydaspe fritillary but don’t hold me to it. I didn’t verify it at the visitor center.
Here’s an avalanche lily, the object of much butterfly attention.
Stunning butterfly…I’ve never see anything like it. You did great capturing it. Whenever I’ve seen any in the garden, I’m just not quick enough.
how pretty!
i wouldnt know what kind of butterfly that would be, regardless of what you say it is.. 🙂
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one, or at least not noted it. (And my hayfever agrees with your title! :D)
I dunno what kind of butterfly, but it is brilliant. Aren’t butterflies endlessly captivating?
I was s-o-o-o-o pleased to capture this butterfly. I’ve never really managed to do it before.
Gorgeous butterfly shot!
