I think I’ve never seen such a dark heron. Great capture, Kay.
Always nice to watch one hunting, I do it often.
Gorgeous photo, love the reflections. Funny – my family were bakers too in San Francisco during the great 1906 quake. The bakery burned down – kind of a duh on that point. But they, like thousands others, moved across the bay and eventually settled in the Gold Country. Interesting what a diaspora was caused by that day.

We have a heron that flies over the house every evening after fishing all day in the river. They are graceful birds whether fishing or flying. Great photo. xx
