I love photographing old farm buildings. They remind me of a connection to the land that we just don’t seem to have anymore. Was this some sort of animal enclosure? From this angle, it looks very close to the water?

Oh my gaws! – now that’s more than a little rundown! I like it.
@Kelly, this is close enough to the bay to be considered “waterfront property,” and it looks like it may have been an enclosure for small animals or maybe a small boathouse or work shed.
