It was a busy day at the Blue Mountain Transfer Station yesterday. The station is operated cooperatively by the City of Port Angeles and Clallam County and is roughly half way between Port Angeles and Sequim. Recycling here is free and dump fees apply to waste. Bring a bucket of bottles and toss them into the glass bin for a cheap form of catharsis, or bring your paper, glass, cardboard, aluminum, and plastics bottles if you want to be a good environmental citizen.

Cooperation between community and its citizens is a very good thing!!
These recycling bins are becoming part of the urban landscape. They don’t look particularly nice, but we have to have them.
I love throwing my glass bottles into the recycling bin. It is deeply satisfying. 🙂
One of our favorite places!!! Everyone is so friendly and nice here too.
It was COLD here yesterday! The puddles had big chunks of ice around their margins and all the mud had a thin skim of ice.
Paul, this station is set back in a hillside off the road in a grove of trees so it’s less an eyesore than it might be otherwise.
Love that this place exists!
