Looks like they’ve got some interesting stuff in there, did you buy anything?
We went in a couple years back, saw vegetables we’d never seen before! It didn’t seem like they had a great quantity of any one thing. The honey looked good although everything was too pricey $$ for us.
cute, artistic!
I did buy some things-2 avocados, 3 oranges, some cabbage, a couple granny smith apples, and a chocolate treat for my husband’s lunch today.
Pat, it is a little more expensive to shop there. It’s not somewhere I could afford to buy all my groceries for sure, but it’s nice to be able to run in there and pick a few things up now and then when I’m out that way and to browse around. They have a free library and a nice setting and the people are usually really nice. Yesterday’s purchase was $10 something.
(I could go off on a whole tangent about how expensive things are in general if you add the words “organic” or “vegetarian” to them.)
This is one of my favorite places to shop. I love the Nash philosophy. I also like the U-pick flower place across the street. They are great people.
Shannon you made some good purchases…wow I love avocados..something I took for granted down in San Diego. We’d have one every evening! (sliced up drizzled with a bit of Russian dressing) Yes, if it’s marked organic or vegetarian the price goes up..unfair to the folks who prefer this variety.
I like the looks of this…but sounds a little too “yuppie,” what with the high-priced goods with the names, “organic” or “vegetarian” stuck on them.
However, if you can get really tasty fresh stuff, I’d sure do some shopping there. I get really tired of paying good money for crap that you can’t even eat when you get home!
It does look like a nice place just to hang out for awhile.
Yep, pricey it is! I’ve gotten some wonderful beets there, some kinds you generally don’t find in the supermarket. I recently bought a truly beautiful hand-pressed soap for a friend’s birthday. And when I planted garlic last fall I got 3 different kinds from Nash’s so I should have some interesting home grown thanks to their variety.
I think they’ve come down on prices a little, at least on some things. When we first moved here I went there and got 4 cucumbers and I remember being shocked that it was over $10 for those. But this last summer I went there for cukes and it wasn’t near that at all.
When I mentioned the labels of organic and vegetarian, I didn’t mean for Nash’s, I just meant in general. If you go to any store and look at the organic stuff, most times it is way more expensive.
Norma, when those flowers across the street are in bloom, that place is so cheerful looking. Bright colors there.
That looks like a great place. I’ll take a little of everything!
