Pictures taken from the same area in the Dungeness Rec Area, about 3 hours apart. Sunny and hot the first shot and the “mountains are out” and then foggy and windy in the 2nd shot and the mountains are back in hiding. When I was out on the trail before the first shot, I met a woman named Sally who told me that a change in weather was coming and pointed out the mare’s tail in the sky…I’d never heard of that term before, but she was right. Not three hours later you’d never have guessed it had been a sunny and hot day.

I love the contrast between these two shots – with “mountains out” and not. Beautiful photos. I wish these were scratch-n-sniff!
Wonderful shots and this is so true! We planned to walk there on Sunday and by the time we were ready to go it was blisteringly windy and the fog was coming in. We watch the weather with fascination every day. This area is our “front yard.” What a treat that is!
