Yesterday I attended a worm composting class presented by the Master Gardeners in Sequim. I didn’t think the worm compost bins would make a particularly attractive picture, so I went with this one. The sign by this guy says “Meet Sluggo. Sluggo is a NW native Banana Slug (Ariolimax columbianus). Unlike his fellow banana slugs who only eat detritus (dead stuff), Sluggo survives on your donations. He loves coins but is really crazy about green leafy dollar bills. Sluggo is always hungry! You are welcome to feed him as much as you like (he is NOT on a diet). Sluggo uses your donations to help maintain his garden home”
The class was very informative and well attended. I enjoyed it and walking around the gardens after it was through.
I like Sluggo! We will have to drop by these demonstration Gardens soon. We will feed him a leafy bill!!
