I don’t know why they call them “Bessie”, but Bessie and her baby live on the back road out of my subdivision. I see them some mornings.

They look like they want some conversation with you. I love their soft golden color and kind faces. Nice shot.
Brown Jerseys aren;t they? Nice looking cows. They are curious animals who will walk out of their way to come over and see who you are. I like cows.
Bessie is such a traditional name for a cow. You triggered a memory of my grandfather’s two work horses, named Bill and Dan. I wonder if those were traditional names for horses 60 years ago?
Bessie has horns!
in my time it was Elsie the cow with the Borden milk co o f Chicago
Cows, gotta love ’em. I had my own “happy” cow post on Wednesday.
The baby reminds me of a pet calf I once had. The mother was dry so “Beauty” became mine; I was 8 years old. Would feed her milk 3 times a day. She soon learned to eat grain/grass but didn’t grow. Never got as big as the beautiful calf in the picture. Cows are so neat. Your beautiful photo captures it all!
I too like cows. I love their faces. Great capture!
We hate to bust your bubble . . . Bessie is a boy and so is the calf! Try new names!
