4-H

According to Wikipedia, “4-H in the United States is a youth organization administered by the Cooperative Extension System of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) with the mission of “engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development.”[1] The four “H”‘s stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. The organization serves over 9 million members in the United States from ages 5 to 21 in almost 100,000 clubs[2]. 4-H clubs and related organizations now exist in many other countries as well; the organization and administration varies from country to country.”
The Clallam County Fair gives 4-H youth a chance to share with their community what they have learned. This sign is on the side of the “Cat Barn”. Do you have a 4-H group in your community?

Headed to the Fair

Technically, the Clallam County Fair Grounds are in Port Angeles, but since it is a County Fair, I hope I will be forgiven for posting something that is not right in Sequim. I was there on Sunday to drop off my photos and 2 quilts. This lady kindly allowed me to take a picture of her and the dollhouse she built. In the Home Arts Building, you will find quilts, crocheted items, cross stitch, clothing and more on one side…on the other side you will find hobbies of all sorts. You could spend a half a day just looking at all of the things folks have brought to share.
