There is more than one house at Salt Creek, but this one sets just back from the mouth and next to the parking lot for the trail head. I envy these folks their front yard and their view….maybe not the parking lot, but folks here are pretty respectful.

More Salt Creek – Repost
The tide was in when I stopped by. Still there were hikers and surfers (burrrr!) More tomorrow.
Winter Fishing – Repost
I stopped by “Salt Creek” today and found this avid fisherman trying out his flyrod. He didn’t catch a thing while I was there. I will be sharing some other pictures of one of my favorite recreation areas close to Sequim.
Making Mole – Repost
My goodness, what a day it was! One of my students informed me he made a very good Mexican “mole”. That was what I wanted to serve for the son-in-law’s birthday dinner. I had no idea what all was involved. We started at 10 after he stopped at the Mexican store to buy the chilies. Then it was off to buy fresh chicken, corn tortillas, a plaintain banana, chipolte, tomatoes, onion, and cloves. We stopped off to borrow a pot from my daughter…none of mine were the right size…and at one point he had to go back to his house to get his blender…mine was puny in comparision. He also brought back a special pot to make the rice. We finally sat down at 3:30 with dinner to be served at 5. Was it worth it…oh, yes! Even if we did have to wash all those pots. I had every intention of visiting my friends blogs today, but did I mention those pots…they all needed washing….some more than once.
Missing Something? Repost
Here is my story… the boots fell out of someone’s truck. A kind hiker found them in the parking lot and hung them on the tree in case someone came back looking for them.
What’s your version?
PS. Today is my son-in-law’s 30th birthday. Not everyone can claim to have a perfect son-in-law, but 99% of the time…mine is A+ perfect.
Not Today, Thank You – Repost
There are picnic tables with a view of the water, tables with shelter from the wind, and those close to the playground. For me, not today, thank you!
The Trail at DWR – Repost
Photo by the best neighbor, SC.
The trail at the refuge is snow covered at the moment. Yet, at any time the park is open you will find people and their dogs taking a hike. it’s the perfect place to go with views of large and small ships. On a good day you can see Port Angeles, and one of my favorite places to visit, Victoria. I’ve broken the rules today to show you two pictures; the first one on an overcast day and the second, almost in the same place but facing the other direction, bathed in sunshine.
