I’ve previously posted pictures of this house here and here. I thought I was done with it. But then came landscaping: trees have been planted on the three open sides around the place. My snarky side suggests they were a gift from the neighbors.
“A physician can bury his mistakes, but an architect can only advise his clients to plant vines.” Frank Lloyd Wright
It does draw you back doesn’t it, so bad that you can’t hep but look. The neighbours might suggest an 8′ fence.
Very appropriate quote for you feelings about the structure. I am still intrigued with it and enjoy seeing the photos. To me, it looks like a happy place, but I agree that it doesn’t seem to fit with the surrounding homes.
Oh you made me laugh out loud Kay ππ it’s going to be a while before those trees have the desired effect! I actually don’t mind this house, admittedly it is bold in it’s colour choices but they do happen to be my two favourite colours, I have no problems with it at all π
I could appreciate why the neighbours might not mind a hedge!
That’s funny Kay, you could be right. The house is a lot taller than its neighbors too. I wonder if these people will be popular.:)
Some friends suggested we have a “midnight painting party” at their place, but I didn’t think that would be cool, so I suggested we purchase them some Miracle-Gro for the trees.
By the way, you can see the owners being interviewed on Youtube; they basically said, “we just wanted to build the house for us, not worrying so much about what the neighbors think.” I’m sayin’! Must be difficult to live your life not caring about others.
I would love to get that youtube interview. Do you know the url or title? Thanks.

I notice that the “comments” are closed on that video π
